Victoria Bartlett

Victoria Bartlett moulds paper and other materials to make quiet images.

She is inspired by relief sculpture which for centuries has expressed wordless ideas and myths for everyone.

She interprets form in both two and three dimensions using surfaces which respond to the slow and subtle changes of shifting light and shadow.

These quiet changes invite you to participate in varied readings of the image revealing hidden details both tangible and illusory.

Her early solo exhibitions were in the U.S.A. 1974-6 and at the Camden Art Centre in London 1981, also at Edward Totah Gallery 1981, Gallerie Simoncini, Luxembourg 1985, Benjamin Rhodes Gallery, London 1987 and 1991, Peralta Pictures 1994 and Piers Feetham Gallery, 2007. She exhibited at the Chicago International Art Fair 1995 and also with Browse & Darby Gallery in London 1994 - 2005.

Many group exhibitions in the UK include the London Group since 1978, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, and exhibitions in Australia, France, Poland and Luxembourg.
