This is the text of a short address given by Gillian Ingham at The London Group’s Annual General Meeting in April 2015, shortly after Bert Irvin’s death.
For the first time The London Group took a stall at the UK’s biggest art book fair. The group will be selling over 20 different art books by the members. The fair was a success with over 30 artist books sold. Thanks to Lydia Julien for organising.
Combines is a small Group Exhibition curated by Mark Dickens inspired by the innovative combination artworks of Robert Rauschenberg and others in the 50s and 60s.
The London Group held its 82nd Open in 2015 with cash and material prizes worth over £5,000. Submission was made online for the first time and hundreds of artists applied and 71 got to exhibit their work alongside the Group’s members.
