International miniature portrait exhibition curated by hARTslane’s Cristiana Bottigella and London Group member Tisna Westerhof, which toured Europe in 2016/17.
Personal Relations intends to create unexpected and appealing international cultural bridges and to foster a sense of unity and collaboration across Europe. The project presents a collection of new works, the size of a mobile phone, created by artist members of different international artists’ associations. Just as miniature portraits were originally given as political gifts to kings or queens, the project aims to strengthen international bonds on an artistic level. The miniature portraits will be presented in London at The Cello Factory, in December 2016. The touring exhibition will then travel to The Hague (The Netherlands, February 2017), Vicenza (Italy, April 2017) and elsewhere in Europe and beyond.
The touring exhibition:
- 6th – 16th December 2016, London, at The Cello Factory, 33-34 Cornwall Road, London, SE1 8ST
- 25th February – 29th March 2017, The Hague (The Nederlands) at Pulchri Studio
- 29th April – 4th June 2017, Vicenza (Italy), at Mirror Gallery
On Thursday 8th December, 7.30pm there will be a concert by The Collective at the Cello Factory
And on Monday 12th December at 6.30pm there will be Artists’ Talks by members of The London Group.
