Three London Group members have been selected for this new prize.
Three of members of the The London Group; Judith Jones, Amanda Loomes and David Theobald, have had work selected for the Westmorland Landscape Prize.
This is a new prize for work that celebrates and interrogates our relationship with the landscape. The selection panel looked for works which reached beyond the aesthetic, stimulating thinking and debate about the way in which we exist alongside, as part of, or sometimes in spite of our landscape.
Judith Jones is showing two photographs, The Little Changing Hut and Walking in Darkness, Amanda Loomes is showing her film Whole made in the sandpits of the Surrey Hills and David Theobald is showing his digital animation Greensleeves.
The exhibition is open from 13 September to 10 November at the Rheged Centre which is 2 mins from Junction 40 on the M6 if you happen to be passing!
